TROPICALIA WITH OS MUTANTES
Tropicalia is a Brazilian cultural movement that developed in the late ’60s as a fusion of Afro-Brazilian traditional music, experimental poetry, ambitious visual art and rock ‘n roll. With the support of Tropicalia pioneers like Caetano Veloso and Gilberto Gil, who eventually served for several years as Brazil’s Minister of Culture, Tropicalia icons like the band Os Mutantes, who we meet in this video, morphed the genre over time into Brazil’s primary form of popular music, called Música Popular Brasileira.
